Temporary Residence has been plugging away at releasing some of the coolest, quietest music to be heard in the underground world for about 8 years. Having never really releasing a compilation other than Sounds of the Geographically Challenged which was only rare 12 inch EPs. Thank You compiles a bunch of exclusive tracks, pretty much all instrumentals, that were created especially for this compilation. You will find all your favorite TR bands like Fridge, Howard Hello, Kilwatthours, Tarantel, Rumah Sakit, Explosions In The Sky, Kammerflimmer Kollektief, Sybarite, Parlour, Halifax Pier and Sonna. Not only do you get exclusive music on this album but you also get some exclusive art. Temporary Residence actually held a bit of a contest for some artwork and the response was overwhelming. So they have a piece of art corresponding to each song listing. It works very well as a collection and gives you a perfect overview of what this under-rated label is all about. Because this album was all exclusive material, it did take a bit longer to get out the door. Now that the label is a little closer to the 100th release, they are still as relevant and this compilation lends itself nicely to the current line-up, mostly the same artists. Some of them like Sybarite have gone on to bigger labels but for the most part, everyone is happy with the nice and steady output the label provides.
