Young Heart Attack is a group coming from Austin Texas, throwing their "fuck yous" to the recording industry while releasing one of the most fun rock 'n' fuckin' roll albums in recent history. Mouthful Of Love is an album that could have probably come out any time from 1970-now. The band is made up of former Sixteen Deluxe members Chris Smith (Frenchie) and Steven Hall and former Fastball drummer Joey Shuffield. They felt they needed a little more so they called on a female friend, Jennifer Stephens to sing alongside Chris Hodge. The result is like no rock and roll album you have heard since the Darkness, without the cheese of course. Upon first listen, there is nothing that really sticks out, like The Darkness' crazy high falsetto. All you hear is a crazy revved up rock and roll. But the more you listen to it, the more the female/male vocals roped me in. Sometimes they pull from some classic groups like the Who for some influence. Doesn't that intro riff on "Starlite" sound a little familiar? These guys are all about rocking hard and they provide a solid album of rock songs that need to be heard at about 11 in your convertible. Mouthful Of Love is a great debut and I expect to see some pretty big things from Young Heart Attack.
