Tajai is a core member of the influential underground hip-hop group The Hieroglyphics. Power Movement marks the first solo album by Tajai and I think it will meet the expectations of Hieroglyphics fans as well as other hip hop aficionados. The music is a heavy as any of of his crew and it even though it's just Tajai it maintains diversity between song. He raps with passion and gets you right into his lyrics. His flow is very fluid, demanding your head to start bobbing. There are times when you think Tajai is going to fall apart, like on "Do Not Touch" which features Pep Love, but everything is held together and he moves on. Listening to him I feel a strong Chuck D influence here. The delivery is similar but Tajai seems even more charismatic. One of my favorite tracks on Power Movement is "Scientific Method" with the catchy samples and strong vocals. The vocals are a thing that are solid throughout the entire album. The title track blasts out too with some pretty cool scratching going on. Power Movement will definitely attract Hieroglyphics fans but any underground Hip hop fan should turn his ears to Tajai. His flow needs to be heard.
