This little band is picking up steam. The Reputation is a group that has already got the "Hot Band To Watch" from Rolling Stone. The band if fronted by the charismatic Elizabeth Elmore. You may recognize her name from a 90s band called Sarge, a band that was also ready to break. The Reputation has already released an indie debut on Initial Records and with the strength of that album Lookout Records couldn't just stand by and watch. Elmore does most of the songwriting and her vocal delivery brings back memories of the female fronted bands of the 90s like Throwing Muses, Belly, and Liz Phair to name a few. The Reputation boasts some pretty impressive guitar work and damn catchy riffs as well as lyrics. You can't help but be swept up in the pop sensibilities of Elizabeth's songwriting. Her delivery is so strong and the way that Mike Hagler has completed the production everything just seems like it is golden. The think I like about The Reputation is that they can rock out and sound just as comfortable kicking back with quieter songs like "The Lasting Effects". I have to agree with Rolling Stone on these guys. I think that this is indeed a band to watch for and I wouldn't be surprised that in about 6 months we start to see some radio play from this band. It's a pop album at its finest.
