Those Are Not My Bongos starts off with a simple question: "Does the penis offend you?" If you are listening to an album from a band call Fuck then most likely you are quite comfortable with a penis. While not really taking much of a detour of their past output, the inspiration of a new label (Future Farmer) always pushes a band to create its finest output. Those Are Not My Bongos is that album. I have never been a huge Fuck fan but I do have respect for what they do. This album is finely produced with many gems on it like the somewhat upbeat (for Fuck) "A Vow". As soon as that song is over they launch into "Hideout", a track that is totally upbeat. Fuck manage to keep the mix pleasant between mellow tracks like "How To Say" and upbeat songs like "Hideout" with a little more focus on the previous. This is what they do best though, the quieter songs that have just a guitar in it with Timmy Prudhomme's vocals warbling in. There are folky/bluesy elements to this album and that really adds to what Fuck is all about. So if the penis doesn't offend you, you might actually enjoy Those Are Not My Bongos.
