Three years since Beaucoup Fish, the Underworld boys are moving to the beat of their own drum, as they always have. Underworld is an electronica group that still sounds very unique after all the years that they have been around (even those of us who remember “Underneath the Radar�). With Darren Emerson leaving the band to pursue his DJ career, it left band founders, Karl Hyde and Rick Smith to do with the band what they pleased. Surprise, they never really changed much. Underworld made an about face when Emerson joined in the early 90’s when they released the jawdropping Dubnobasswithmyheadman and really haven’t looked back since. A Hundred Days Off doesn’t really take the band any further than Beaucoup Fish but alternatively extends on it. Anyone who has only heard tracks such as “Born Slippy� from the Trainspotting soundtrack, looking for more of the same would be better off with Second Toughest In The Infants. This is an album that is more for Underworld collectors. Tracks are a little more minimalistic and have even less vocals on them than their earlier stuff.
