Takeover Records is a newer punk label from Hollywood California that has been sneaking out releases from some pretty decent up and comers. The 3-Way series is a new series that Takeover records has undertaken. Instead of a split album, Takeover is looking at doing a 3 way split album. Issue 1 includes Over It, Stole Your Woman, and Don't Look Down. There are three tracks from each of the band except Don't Look Down, who provide two. They have bribed Over It away from Lobster records in order to lead of the split and the three tracks are really good. They kick out with "Waiting", one of the better pop punk songs I have heard this year. In fact, all three bands play some cool versions of pop punk. Stole Your Woman's first track, "I Don't Care" is pretty standard fare for the genre. They pick it up on their next two tracks. Over It's "We are the Ordinary" is an acoustic track that shows some pretty decent singing and songwriting. Don't Look Down's two songs are fairly cool too although nothing terribly original. 3-Way is a good way to get acquainted with these three bands without having to spend a lot of money.
