Rum Runner proves that there is some great punk talent right here in Calgary, AB. Association is the groups debut album and it is a high energy punk album in the style of Flogging Molly or Dropkick Murphys. Call it Oi or whatever you want, Rum Runner has some energetic songs and a ready to kick your ass. Have a listen to their cover of the Pogues' "Streaming Whiskey". They pull it off quite nicely but ultimately they prove their worthiness in their original music. The album starts out with an upbeat title track and flows through 11 more tracks before their Pogues cover. All the songs are lively and show a band that has something to offer punk fans. Rum Runner doesn't really bring anything new to the table but they do manage to pull of a fun style of sing-along punk that pretty much any punk fan will appreciate.
