Matt Christensen formed Western Automatic in 1997 as a creative outlet for hi electronic experiments. The peaceful soundscapes that Matt is able to conjure up here using the droning beats and the phasing bleeps and bleeps ends up being very soothing. Western Automatic is not overly groundbreaking but Matt knows how to keep ones attention with the minimalist approach. He has obviously taken some lessons from the likes of Brian Eno. Aparently all of the track on It's 1995 were all recorded straight to tape with no overdubs which leads to unpredictable but intriguing results. Listen to this on your headphones and your aural pleasures will be realized.
