On their fourth album Mexican punk band Molotov sound just as fierce and relentless as they did with their debut Donde Jugaran Las Niñas a record that launched the band straight into the spotlight as the Latino thinking man's punk band. In Dance Dense and Denso Molotov carry on this tradition with another scathing record full of clever lyrics and incredible music. The band has always demonstrated a willingness to experiment with all types of sounds and this album is no different going from hardcore punk "Dance Dense and Denso" to straight up booty music "Changüich a la Chichona" and even a little new wave "Here We Kum". Molotov has always been known for its political tone seen in such songs as "Hit Me" and "Frijolero" both harsh views of life as an illegal immigrant and Mexican-American relations, these songs coupled with their videos create a powerful view of a part of society that tends to be swept under the rug. Dance Dense and Denso is another brilliant effort from one of the more well-respected bands on the Latin American scene, providing a cross-section of musical styles and incredible insight from the other side of the border. This is an album that I recommend to any punk fan that doesn't mind a little Spanish in their music, and that feels that their music collection needs something fresh and different.
