Maximum RNR is a straight ahead Rock and Roll band from Toronto that has been gaining notoriety for their heavy live shows. Think about bands along the lines of Fu Manchu, The Hellacopters, or even The Mooney Suzuki and you might have an idea of what Maximum RNR is all about. The band has chosen the now infamous Ian Blurton (and what a great choice that was) to produce this high octane 6 song EP. There is only one song here that reaches slightly over the three minute mark, which means the entire EP is just under 16 minutes long. It leaves me thirsting for more. After hearing a track like the smoking "Cutthrout" or the blistering opener "Stormfront" you can't help but love 'em or hate 'em. But my favorite has to be the catchy as hell "Lucky Charm". It is easily the best rock song I have heard this year. And yeah, if hard rock is your thing, check out their website for where to pick up this EP. God damn it smokes.
