Badorb.com is Alex Paterson’s (the Orb) label and Bless You is their first compilation of what they have to offer. Strangely teaming up with noted folk label Shanachie, Bless You may have troubel reaching the masses due to people’s confusion with the relation to Shanachie. Either way, Bless You is a very interesting double disc compilation. Most of Badorb’s material is only available off of the website so this should make Bless You a hot commodity. The Orb contributes two tracks (“Cool Harbour� and “I Am The Red Worm�), which I believe are exclusive tracks. The rest of the mix is made up of groups that I haven’t heard of before: Autolump, Creature, Multiverse, Electric Chairs, Prayer Box, Fusionic, Loophead and a few others. For the most part, the other artists don’t stray to far from the Orb’s sound of classic trance and ambient electronica. One wacky track is on by an artist called Kyle Zeto with a child-like rant over top of an acoustic guitar. There are some multimedia elements too but not really friendly to my Macintosh. Orb fans will totally enjoy Bless You.
