Sally Timms's strong yet feminine voice sings lyrics written by men about women, abandonment, marriage, war and commitment. Though sally Timms is singing from a man's perspective, the voice of a woman is carrying the thoughts through. Her soft but exceptionally strong and intimidating voice exerts power and knowledge, almost as if she knows more then what she's spouting. The songs were written by artists such as; Ryan Adams, Mark Eitzel, Kevin Coyne, Johnny Dowd, Jon Langford, Sean Garrison, and are backed by Johnny Dowd and his band.
"Its not that I even want to marry you, because marrying you would mean I would have to chain you, not choose you." (I'm Just a Man)
Listening to a woman singing men's raw and honest thoughts illustrates a connection between both the male and female sex.
The album has a folk/western sound that radiates a very open, lonesome feel. The minimal instrumentation focuses on Sally's voice and the lyrics she delivers. Though the lyrics are genuine and make quite a statement, the music itself isn't so great to listen to, as it starts to drag on and sound similar.
