Another in the generic, "I'm a little bit emo, I'm a little bit Power Punk" sweepstakes.
At least they don't have a number in their name, and they do employ their Smashing Pumpkins lessons to great effect. Clearly they have also learned their basic Superdrag and Coldplay. This is a band that needs to find its own spin on a familiar sound, or it will disappear.
For now, that isn't bad. This is a good, inoffensive record that might be cool to listen to while driving or to have on in the background while making dinner. The chugging "Chance of Sunbreaks"and "Mulberry" might even get some dancing happening. The pretty "Silouette" and "Plume" are also good ear candy; they just don't stick in your head for longer than a commercial for Mountain Dew. So this is a good record for the listener, but said fan may not have many more Yellow Second records to look forward to unless they get some of their own chops soon.
