I went out on a limb and bought this album after reading an excellent review in our local weekly entertainment paper. I was rewarded with what could be one of this year’s finest downtempo electronica albums this year. Yes, it is that good. I don’t know much about Plastyc Buddha except that it is basically the brainchild of two producers; Stephan Parmentier and Pieter Verschueren. The LEA (Life Enhancing Audio) label looks as though it is from Belgium and from the artist’s names I would have to say that they were probably Belgian too. Stones in Pools is one of those albums that is a treat to put on after a long day at work and chill out to. The programming is fantastic and the duo also incorporate real instruments like the saxophone, trumpet, double bass, Fender Rhodes, and vocals by a Cathy Van Hoecke. It is the type of music that you don’t have to concentrate on and it allows your senses to feel at ease. Plastyc Buddha comes very highly recommended by MusicEmissions.com.
