Debut records rarely sound this confident. Guitarist and songwriter Kobie Jackson has hooks aplenty lying around, with a stack of amps to ram the point home. "Recon Seed", "Rock Star", Orange freezes" "2 & Ten Low"; there really isn't a bad song on the record. It is grungy, dramatic, melodic, and the lyrics are intelligent without being mopey. I would suspect that this band will be both huge and great, if they stay true to the strengths they show here. If not, they could easily slip, plodding Creed-like onto MTV with more of a belief in their press than in their music.
