A good friend recommended this double album to me and to tell you the truth, it took a bit of time to get into it. Now one disc or the other is always found in the CD changer. Private Lounge consists of two discs: the first disc is entitled Cocktail Lounge and the second disc is Late Lounge. There is the odd artist that I recognize on here such as Amon Tobin and Smith & Mighty as well as Solar Sides. Apricot has done a great job sorting through the tracks and dividing them up. The entire feel of the collection is that of a downtempo journey. The first disc ramps you up to the more alive second disc. And as I said, there really isn’t that much of a difference but you can feel a faster flow on Late Lounge. Some highlights worth pointing out are Beanfield’s “The Season (Swag’s Vocal Mix) and Sa Trincha “Jazzybiza. Really, there isn’t a bad track on this double disc. You will find a nice mix of instrumentals and vocal mixes that will keep it interesting. My apologies to Gary for not reviewing this album earlier; it has literally been stuck in my CD player since I first listened to it. Thank you.
