Phillipino born singer Fermin checks in with a smooth recitation of Alt-Country flavorings. While not terribly original in their intent or execution, songs like "My Tow", "I can't afford not to take", "How Can you Judge me" circle the bases from gentle country shuffle to energetic country-rock. A cover of Steve Earle's "Down The Road ," one of his weaker songs, is given new life with fresh harmonies. While not a jaw-dropping, Oh, The Stories We Hold showcase a solid band with a good heart. You could do so much worse when you have a beer in one hand, and wondering record to put into the other next.
