RecommendShadow is up to no good again. This time around, with Hed Sessions, Shadow records takes some of the coolest underground downtempo music out there right now and creates a killer compilation. This is not your average lounge style downtempo we are talking about. Shadow recordings have a certain dark overtone to their overall feel. The music ends up being a little impersonal but there is a certain charm to it after a couple listens. Hed Sessions would be a good soundtrack to a dark rainy night when no one is around. If you enjoyed their Hard Sessions album that came out earlier this year then just imagine that album on Quaaludes. Where Hard Sessions was heavy hitting, Hed Sessions lays you back in your easy chair and although devastation still lingers, you have a soundtrack. The album features such Shadow artists as Le Gooster, Merkin, and Hybrid Device. Great background music for the after-hours club.
