Danny Cohen acts like a bit of a recluse. There is evidence of that in any bio your read of the man. His first couple of albums were so out there that they were released on John Zorn's experimental label Tzadik. We're All Gunna Die gets a release on Anti due to his somewhat similarity to Tom Waits. As the title suggests, every song subject turns to dust. The bio that came with the release was written by Errol Sprague, the producer and alter-ego of Danny, and it states that death pervaded the lyrics. Think of Nick Cave when it comes to subject matter, and for delivery in some instances. I would even consider a comparison to Bob Dylan on some tracks like the opener "As I Looked Down". I'm not sure if Danny Cohen will be finding many fans with We're All Gunna Die. The songwriting is there but his voice and arrangements are sometimes hard to get into. His warbly voice and eclectic instrumentation lends themselves to a very specific audience.
