This Quango compilation is a bit deceiving at first. The first thing you see is Richard Dorfmeister’s Tosca leading off the list of artists included in the compilation and you immediately think that this is going to be a downtempo album. It is downtempo but not in the regular sense of the word. You can expect a little more of an Acid Jazz overtone throughout this great album. Most of the other artists are unknown but provide thoroughly enjoyable tracks. There are contributions from a group called Solid Doctor as well as Horsemilk. These are brought to you by Steve Cobby, who is one half of the superb group Fila Brazilia. The album has a lot more live instruments on here than a lot of downtempo compilations. Space Jazz provides another fine compilation for the ever-expanding Quango label.
