The press release mentions comparisons to Bob Mould and Afghan Whigs. Aside from the fact that both those acts speak English, I can't see it. While Mould has been erratic post-Huskers, he has never been shy about exposing the raw nerve of his thoughts; in the Whigs, Greg Dulli came as close as a white man has come to the dark funk of Sly Stone's There's a Riot Goin' On . That is a lot for any band to measure up to, much less aspire to. Windownine are neither; they are another pop-punk band that overhear experience and try to turn it into anthems no one relates to after Sophomore year. If you really felt what you went through, would you write songs with titles like "Song Before Dying", "Sanity of the Pilot", or " I, Believer"? That sounds like Yes after a night on the town. Stick your finger in the pie for real, dammit!
