Smart and soulful rap/funk, all done live with bass and drums( and keyboards!) by one of the best rap groups in Minnesota, and that is no slag. The Minneapolis scene is really putting together some noise, combining funk and live instruments to push the genre into new territory with fresh ideas and words.
Bassist Twinkie Jiggles keeps the beats fat and hardcore, while rappers Felix and Muad'Did take on both inner and outer injustices with equal does of anger and awareness. dVRG on keyboards adds both 70's funk lines and sublime ambient fills that give a spiritual tone to many of the tunes here. There is spirit all over this record. "Mad like an aggravated freeman," 'Did sings on "Swearsong"; this is rap that is the voice of freedom.
