RecommendPrepare to be sludged. A short burst of Earth is better than none, and this three song EP is more than enough of a good sugar fix to keep you going. Guitarist Dylan Carson and company slog through "A Bureaucratic Desire for Revenge Parts I & II" and Ourboros is Broken" with the usual weapons: loud, Iommi-esque power chords, thudding bass and the always understated, almost cosmic drumming of Dave Harwell. There is nothing here that would be news to earth fans, but that is the fun. You always know what to expect, and Earth's simple plan for imparting sonic trauma has become one of the more hopeful influences in today's guitar rock.
