Godflesh - In All Languages
In the early 90's no one sounded like Godflesh. With the possible exception of Ministry, they blended metal with industrial in truly frightening ways. Now the sound has become standard, with thrash, screamo and crust standardizing the genre. But back then, Godlfesh were a brand new bag.
Punishing, repetitive tunes like "Streetcleaner" "Like Rats" and "Circle of Shit" still sound menacing. In All Languages, a collection of their best material, comes with an extra DVD of promo clips for songs like "Christbait Rising" and "Mothra." This set is both a great introduction to a seminal band, and a welcome reminder for those who were there.
