Jaded Psychedelic mud is the glorious game being played here. The Morning After Girls rock with the best of them, but don't seem to care one way of the other. They wear their New York punk influence boldly, while making 80's cliches more menacing than the original intent. And they are fun. "Lazy Greys", "Fireworks" "Chasing Us Under" "Hidden Spaces" "Hi-Skies" and others alternately rock, brood, freak out, and amble along to the bar or strip club with a yawn. They give new life to tired musical ideas and scramble them up into a heady mix of shoe-gazing with one eye on the lookout for the best ass in the house. The Morning After Girls probably don't care if you like them, but dig it anyway.
