RecommendI am amazed that someone is already stating Daft Punk as an influence. That is exactly the case with Pascal Arbez's Vitalic project. Pascal comes from France and while many other decent electronic acts such as Air are fellow Frenchmen Vitalic seems to hold something different up for inspection. OK Cowboy is Vitalic's debut album even though Pascal has been putting out music for a number of years now. You can indeed hear Daft Punk's influence at play here. The beats are hard hitting with very little organic elements infused. A couple of the tracks tend to lead toward monotony like "Le Rock 01" but what is there isn't to be taken lightly. Arbez takes care to provide us a divers landscape of electronic music on Vitalic's debut. The result is a very rewarding album, something you don't find everyday in the electronic music field these days.
