RecommendLondon's working class heroes The Rakes are a refreshing change in today's music scene: a band with a big buzz that actually lives up to the hype. No pretty boys, these guys have been kicking it in the pubs and workplace for years, and some sugar is finally coming their way. This five song disc rocks hard and confident, with small tales of the everyday . "22 Grand Job" and "Dark Clouds" express frustrations that are right up there is sincerity with The Boss, and "Strasbourg" is an instant classic that would have stunned you in 1977 as well as today. Get tired at work, shower, go to the club, plug it in, and kick out the jams.
