Avail is a punk band with it's heart in hardcore. Or is it the other way around. They have the melodic side of punk down pat and when it comes to wailing out a hardcore tune they have no problem. Avail is sporting a new label and seems pretty happy about the deal they got because they are sounding better than ever. Fat Wreck Chords seems like as good a home as any for the almost decade old band. They key to Avail's longevity is the adaptive vocals of Tim Barry. He can sing in almost any style and is never held back with any stereotypes. To top it off Avail has meaningful lyrics and always have something to say. This Virginia band will not just disappear, they are out to prove that they can still rock hard. One Wrench is as good a place to start as any if you are just getting into the band. Start here and work backwards.
