Marah - If You Didn't Laugh, You'd Cry
Marah continue to stretch the boundaries of “americana with each ignored album. If You Didn't Laugh, You'd Cry is by far their best. “The dishwasher’s Dream is as great a slice of whimsical despair this side of Slobberbone.. The epic “Walt Whitman Bridge had better first be approached sober, then hit the bottle and wallow in its wisdom; similarly, “The Apartment explores naked emotion with just enough distance to help you swallow it. Gently rocking, Sooner or Later “ and The End ought to be on the next Westerberg record, to help save it. And if singles still mattered, “So What if We’re Outta Tune (w/the rest of the world) would be number one with a bullet (through name least favorite countdown DJ here’s head).
