RecommendAmbient emo with a killer metallic outburst gives some much needed grit and abrasiveness to the rock market. The digital intro to this empirical A side taken from the bleeping and blurry album; ‘Strange We Should Meet Here’ that is making people take notice of Idiot Pilot. The ebb and flow nature of 'A Day In The Life Of A Poolshark', builds from Michael Harris' slightly sombre and troubled Arnar Gudjonsson (Leaves) vocal range, before he bolts into a screeching metallic vocal onslaught to complement the caustic and crushing accompaniment that kicks in like 4 shots of absinthe. The offering is then given a yearning and slightly eerie touch by way of Chino Moreno’s remix.
Non-album offering; ‘Deep Blue’ contains a rousing, almost choral element, with the malleable voiced Harris producing an early days Tim Burgess sound. Idiot Pilot are test flying some diverse and roving material, you would be advised to hop aboard.
