RecommendThe Meligrove Band is a new signing for V2 records and guess what, they're Canadian! Yup, the boys in The Meligrove Band all grew up in the same Toronto suburb learning music by trying to cover Super Friendz songs. Before Planets Conspire landed on my desk I was completely unfamiliar with the band. But after just one listen to this great pop album, produced by By Divine Right's Jose Contreras, and you will be convinced that this band is worthy to be on such a prestigious label. The band released an album on Endearing Records and it was obviously enough to get some attention Stateside. Planets Conspire is a great introduction to the band. It is a very diverse listen with pop being the main focus. Jose has done a fine job in the production chair letting out all of the bands beautiful melodies. The album starts out with a piano driven track called "Isle of Yew". In fact, a lot of the songs have piano as the driving force behind them.
