RecommendEster Drang is a very orchestral band from Oklahoma. They have a prior two full-length albums out that I haven't had the opportunity to check. Rocinate is their second for Jade Tree. The sound of Ester Drang was quite a surprise for me. It was much more accessible and pop oriented than I was expecting. It's a very rich and rewarding sound. The songs have a feel of instant recognition and the more you listen to Rocinate, the more the songs become ingrained. Most of the music is cinematic in nature and have a very mellow overtone without boring the listener. Ester Drang believe strongly in melody making this album a very rewarding listen.
