Terry Eason has a sound similar to that of Matthew Sweet, if he had serious guitar chops and chased after Badfinger instead of Raspberries. Eason has a huge pop vocabulary, from the power pop of "Like Me More" to the psychedelia of "Garam Masala". "Time Can Only Save You" is the best solo Westerberg song never written. "Wishful Thinking" ought to give Chilton a reason to make it through the night, wherever the fuck he is. "How Long/will you still destroy me?" indeed! Lo-fi production gives extra value to his Jethro Tull and Pink Fairies riffs as well. He's never made a bad record, and The Aching of the Household Fly is his best.
