Female singer Meegan Maultsaid formed Che Chapter 127. She had been singing for a long time and was big on activism and social issues. You can thank Meegan for the creation of Grrrlapalooza. Profit Prophet is actually the debut album by Che Chapter 127 and it sounds like this group of musicians that Meegan has collected is very experienced and able. This is an angry band with many political topics to sing about. Try “The Choicelessness Parade� for a sample of these strong-minded lyrics (“We’re at war until all women are free/The fists and the rapist, the burnings at the stake/The bombers of the clinics, the choicelessness parade�). While Maultsaid is obviously a Che Guevara fan (look no further than the band name), she quotes Guevara in the liner notes “Let me say, with risk of appearing ridiculous, that the true revolutionary is guided by strong feelings of love: above all, always be capable of feeling any injustice committed to anyone in the world�. The only injustice that I can think of with Profit Prophet is that not enough people will hear it. This is a fine hardcore album that will appeal to many punk fans. Guests include former Sparkmarker Kim Kinakin and the always-pleasant Kinnie Star.
