Damn, I feel like a geek. I love this band! Motion City Soundtrack makes such sugary sweet pop-punk that feel like I'm 17 all over again (a very big feat considering my age). Pop-punk is such a dodgy area but when it is done well it really is magical. I totally enjoyed Motion City Soundtrack's debut, I Am The Movie and this one builds nicely on the melodies and harmonies they created on that album. Oh, the lyrics get cheesy as hell but the harmonies and such make up for the failure in lyric writing. ("I can't fucking stand it, when you're around" and that's a chorus that's hard to believe when the music is this fucking happy.). I guess it's to be expected on an emo album. The lyrics are very stereotypical for the genre. But the melodies! That's the thing that gets me going. MCS is a tight band that is able to switch it up on a dime. They make Taking Back Sunday look amateur. The even sound like Fountains of Wayne on "Resolutions", not an easy feat. Justin Pierre has a great voice and is meant to be singing in this fashion. The album opens on an amazing note, "Attractive Today". It's big and bold and full of keyboards and thick guitars. It reminds me of the Posies' heyday. It's bands like this that I would love to hear on the radio. Good traveling songs that are fun and happy. Now, if Pierre could just work on his cheesy lyrics we would have a classic band that would stand up forever.

I'm reveiwing this album because i find it to be their best album so far. I bought the single Everything is Alright off this album as soon as it came and didn't really pay attenion to the rest of the album which was a big mistake. But then i heard make out kids and immediatly bought the rest of the album. I think it is an amazing album for anyone who likes punk, Electronic, or pop music. It also has a great varity of music on the cd than any cd i've heard in a long time. Overall it's defineitly a 10/10. There amazing live too
