Now I don't normally review Greatest Hits albums but this one had to be reviewed. Every indie music fan knows Cracker and are fond of their music and awesome tracks like "Teen Angst", "Low", and "Get Off This", amongst many others. And those paying attention may be curious at the exact same release date of this album as Get On With It: The Best Of Cracker. Well, Lowery and crew were a little angry at Virgin for doing the latter album without their involvement whatsoever. They refused their help. So, they decided to get on it and re-record their Greatest Hits. That's where this album comes in. Now, in passing, Greatest Hits Redux works just as well as the other compilation, proving that they still have what it takes in the studio. And damn do they have fun on tracks like "Lonesome Johnny Blues". There are some nice additions on a few of the tracks too. It is nice to see that a band cares as much as Cracker does to take ownership of their catalog like this. So, just for the fact that Virgin wouldn't let the artist be involved with a greatest hits compilation, choose this one. Stick it to the man.
