I've been a DJ Cam fan for a long time. In fact it was back in 1996 when I fell in love with Mad Blunted Jazz. It is fine albums like his DJ Kicks volume and The Loa Project Vol. 2 that makes this Parisian DJ stand out from many others. So when an established DJ is remixed the critics will be hard and heavy. What we get on Revisited By is a slightly more hip hop focused affair rather than the laid back beats that we have come to love from this DJ. The compilation kicks off with Kenny Dope reworking "Success" and sticks to the original vibe quite closely. Don't like that one then there are two other versions of "Success" on the album: Thievery Corporation and Attica Blues take them on. The former manipulate it enough that you hardly even know it's the same song where as Attica Blues take it and stretch it into space. Some of the heavier hip hop tracks include "Espionage" with Guru on vocals and remixed by Bob Sinclair. This actually is one of Revisited By's strongest tracks. Overall, DJ Cam Revisited By is not an essential album but it does add another dimension to the French DJ's already impressive music.
