Neotropic - White Rabbits
You may or may not have heard of Neotropic. It is the name of Riz Maslen's ambient electronic outfit and she has been on Ninja Tunes as well as the affiliated NTone labels before White Rabbits. This album was released on the experimental hip hop label Mush, not a perfect fit but it makes Neotropic stand out a little more. There is nothing on White Rabbits that the general public would want to hear. No, this is very ambient electronic music that has a surprisingly organic feel to it. Music contained on this album would make a perfect soundtrack for an eerie short film. So basically, White Rabbits makes a really great background album for getting down to business. Neotropic is nothing revolutionary but her music manages to reach out to the unsuspecting and grab them. My favorite track is the harmonica tinged "Feelin Remote".
