RecommendAn insanely generous selection from the teen assemblages on vinyl and cassette by John Weise, the 52 tracks, mostly untitled, on Teenage Hallucination show an already formed aesthetic in harsh noise and ambient that has served him well since as one the genre's major and most visionary practitioners. His selection and editing of the recent Cherry Point release shows both a working knowledge of splatter film as well as current noise trends. The four 40 minute plus songs on Night form the soundtrack to the nightmare that horror films never deliver: the real gore you see in your head that is never quite satisfied by even the most gore overloaded cinema. Truly an attempt to fuel nightmares, The Cherry Point record is both evidence of Weise's continued genius as well as an aural monster all its own.
