RecommendMat Kearney is a fairly new AOR artist that should get some good coverage with his sophomore album, Nothing Left To Lose. On the strength of his previous album, Bullet (released on Inpop Records) Aware decided to take a chance on this Oregon-based artist. Mat's vocal style isn't unique but it's the combination of his Chris Martin crooning and his Everlast style of rapping that makes him stand out. I can see Kearney getting on some people's nerves with the combination but really the masses should be ready for this. If anything, critics may cry out copycat to his Coldplay sound. I believe that it is just different enough to stand out. We'll see if radio picks up on Kearney. I'm guessing that chances are pretty good we'll be seeing more of Mat.
