From a nice, almost comforting reunion tour by one of the great unheralded bands of the '80's, this record features all of Camper Van Beethoven's favorites-"Take The Skinheads Bowling", "(I Was So ) Wasted", "Balalika Gap"-plus "History of Utah" and "Unabomber Song." There was a time in the mid-90's, after the first wave on Grunge, and before Foo Fighters, where singer David Lowery and Cracker were the only worthwhile band on the radio. This is a great reminder of his signature perceptive and wry take on the world, with that glorious violin back for one more round of bliss. I'll take this over the Pixies; they probably made no money off this tour, but I'm sure that the night recorded here wasn't the only night the were a the height of their new/old game.
