RecommendCritical Monkey is a solo release by Robi Kauker, noted game sound designer. The tracks on Failure of an Intelligent Design, apparently assembled over a period of a few years, revolve around dissonant piano themes and bursts of fuzzy energy. But not fuzzy logic; the overall effect is of a personal environment, recorded and brooded over until the listener could reproduce it and send it out to other listeners. Here Kauker's gaming experience works to his advantage: he has created a world with Critical Monkey that is part dirt real, part fantastic, and always ready to flow with the listener according to his skill.
