North Carolina's legendary Rodan is one of those bands that, with hindsight, made music that anticipated a lot of what followed, though no one paid much attention the first time around. With this band in particular, that is a shame. Mid-90's rock desperately needed a new, original voice, and it was there. Nobody heard it. Rusty is both powerful and haunting, a classic example of the power of a few chords cranked to 10 to transport the listener into some personal heaven or hell. Rusty puts poser to shame from the first tune. Droning, humble but brutally honest tracks like "The Everyday World of Bodies"; "Shiner"; "Gauge"; "Bible Silver Corner" will live forever, on their own and in the songs of countless bands that take the hint and run. Rusty is the most important Rodan release that every collector needs in their collection.
