The early to mid-80's were full of aggressive, confident punk/hardcore bands that managed to find their own signature voice in the three or four standard chords. Bands back then wanted to be a part of a larger whole, but still be their own boss. That now there are few bands, even in hardcore, who even give a passing thought to staking out their own sonic ground, makes this one of the "hell yeah!" kind of releases, a reminder that hardcore is not dead, not slave to formula.
Long Beach's Clit 45 rock and roar, with both anger and humor that are the real deal, proving they've absorbed both the punk heritage of their hometown and its heyday. While " Have Our Say", "Used To Have A Life" and "Cracked Actor" sound like the anthems aging punks like me still pogo to, that is the point. Clit 45 are in the big league, and this is a monster of a record.
