Ludacris - The Red Light District
OK, so here I am reviewing a mainstream hip hop album. WTF? A long time ago a promo company sent me The Red Light District by none other than Ludacris and I thought before I finally purge it I would give it a shot. Damn, Ludacris isn't just a good actor, he's a good rapper too. The samples are fun. Look no further than "Number One Spot" that builds an awesome track on top of the Austin Powers theme song. I really enjoyed "Get Back" as well. His rise as one of the most successful of Dirty South's rapper is quite impressive. Have a listen to The Red Light District and you can understand why. There are a couple duds on this Ludacris album like "Who Not Me". That song doesn't have any substance. The next track, "Large Amounts" makes up for it though. Sure, he's made guest appearances on pretty much every mainstream hip hop album out there but he still manages to keep some hot rhymes for his own album. If you are a hip hop fan you would probably enjoy Ludacris. Give him a shot.
