This being Doctor Manette's debut album shows off their Third Wave Ska Revival abilities. The band plays a tight version with all the hooks that contemporaries such as Reel Big Fish have but lead to a bigger and brighter future. Named after a character in the Charles Dickens book, A Tale of Two Cities, they retain nothing classic. They are inspired not by the Skatallites or Bob Marley but by Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Less than Jake. The vocal delivery needs some work but we must remember that this is Doctor Manette's debut as well. The voice will come over time. The horn section is tight, the guitars are fierce when they need to be, mellow the rest of the time. All in all the band is very tight and shows promise of a great future.
