Calgary's very own pop/punk-masters, Chixdiggit are at it again. It's been a while (5 years), in fact a few rumors of the band breaking up but now with Pink Razors and a Fat Wreck Chords contract in tow the Calgary punk band is back with even more catchy rock tunes. If you have heard the band previously, there will be very few surprises on Pink Razors, just more catchy pop punk in the vein of From Scene To Shining Scene and other classic Diggit albums. For new potential fans, this is as good a place to start as any. Songs like "I Remember You" have a 60s feel with a bit more of a punk flavor. The boys take no time to get things ripping on tracks such as "You're Pretty Good" and "Geocities Kitty". None of these songs are totally abrasive. No, these boys like their punk to be almost along the lines of punk easy listening. You could easily play these songs for your parents and they would approve. This shouldn't deter you though. Pink Razors is an album chock-full of great pop/punk songs that are just begging to be sung along with. I got a kick out of "J Crew" where a oblivious punk is dating a high class model.
