Not sure what happened with Arab Strap's deal with Matador was but they are out on a new label for The Last Romance. It's really too bad because The Last Romance is a nice continuation of Monday At The Hug And Pint. It seems like Aidan Moffat's vocals have been reworked slightly. He sounds more confident than ever even though the topics of Arab Strap's music are very similar. The production of Last Romance is fantastic as well. It is up to the point where it alone is a selling point of the album. I don't know if Arab Strap would like the term "lush" used in one of their reviews but this album has such a lush production that there is no other term to use. "There Is No Ending" is my all-time favorite track by the band. If you have given up on Scotland's Arab Strap, The Last Romance is a spot where you need to jump back on. A track like "Speed-date" doesn't come along very often so you need to enjoy it while you can.
