These compilations are fantastic. I could end this review already by saying that you need to run out and grab all the new Brazilian compilations but that would be lazy. Ziriguiboom has been exporting a lot of the Brazilian talent for a number of years now, by way of Six Degrees. This compilation shows just what the label (and genre for that matter) is capable of. There are 14 songs on this album and honestly, I wouldn't have the compilation changed at all. You get some of the labels favorites, like Bebel Gilberto, Celso Fonseca, Cibelle, Zuco 103 (which I can only handle a couple songs at a time), and Bossacucanova. The album is upbeat with only a few slight changes in pace along the way. The mix of the old school Tropicalia and the electronics in songs like "Cada Beijo" (remixed by Thievery Corporation) really doesn't seem forced. It's all natural. If you are wondering about the Brazilian revolution, check out this Ziriguiboom compilation. It's really wonderful.
